Summary:

Investor’s Forum is looking for a Developer to be a key member of the Software Development team, focusing on the backend/frontend development of online financial applications. The Developer is responsible for software and web-service architecture, coding, implementation, and maintenance. Basic system administration knowledge is a plus. As a member of the Software Development team, this person will also support and work closely with other developers and supports to produce regular software maintenance and new feature releases.

The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining an online application developed in ASP.NET, AJAX, VB-C#.NET, Javascript, XML, CSS, DotNetNuke, MS SQL2005, IIS, and WIN2003. Candidate must be able to solve a problem on his/her own by utilizing experience and other resources, as well as recognize when it is best to seek help. This person will need to draw from a broad background in many disciplines of information technology including MS SQL Server, Windows 2000/XP/2003, development tools, application program interfaces, development methodologies, messaging software, application security, interoperability techniques, and development standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Software development and maintenance
2. New feature design
3. Database and System Administration
4. Share and cooperate with other developers
5. Software performance testing and load analysis
6. Develop administrative tools for internal staff use
7. Communicate with lead developer and management issues requiring immediate attention
8. Recommend solutions to existing or anticipated issues
9. Be able to complete projects quickly and accurately with little or no supervision
10. Work with the Team to review new functionality requests, document technical changes, and identify potential issues.
11. Work with the team to address identified defects and determine appropriate resolutions
12. Document defects/resolutions using a bug tracking database and perform initial verification of corrections
13. Work with documentation
14. Be a team player willing to put in the extra effort to deploy high-quality software in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Requirements:

1. 2-3+ years of web application development in an informal to semi-formal development environment
2. Ideal candidate should have the following experience:
   1. ASP.NET/ASP
   2. AJAX
   3. C#/VB.NET
   4. ADO.NET
   5. Javascript
   6. XML
   7. HTML / XHTML / CSS / UML
   8. C++/Pearl
   9. MS SQL 2005/2008 LINQ T-SQL 
   10. Third-party API/SDK
   11. DotNetNuke
   12. IIS / Active Directory / DNS
   13. Basic knowledge of System Administration
   14. Basic knowledge of Database Administration
   15. Performance tuning for Software/System/Database
   16. Silverlight
   17. WPF
   18. Console/Windows applications 
3. Strong knowledge of development methodologies, standards, and best practices
4. Solid analytical skills in assessing user, functional and technical requirements
5. Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities, countermeasures, and secure coding techniques
6. Working knowledge of source code control tools and approaches
7. Proven history of being able to work under pressure, manage multiple simultaneous projects, interface with customers and consistently meet deadlines
8. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information

Others:

1. Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields
2. A good command of the English language
3. Team player, motivated, and highly responsible
4. Good knowledge or interest in financial information
5. Background in real-time online financial application
6. Experience with project requirements definition, analysis, and documentation
7. Experience in project management with track records of successfully implementing projects on time and within budget
8. A year or more of experience with Web service design and implementation
9. Background in Object oriented programming and design
